Something Old...

Following the royal wedding the catwalk and fashion blogs have been bombarded by soft romantic inspired hair, make-up and outfits. Kate wore a beautiful ivory Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton. This Grace Kelly style piece flowed down the aisle beautifully, and Kate's petite frame was accentuated by the fitted bodice which was covered in beautiful lace. The timeless dress was only made more elegant by the delicate lace sleeves. As for her something old the lace was made using a technique which dates back to the 1800's. Her something blue was a blue ribbon sewn into the lining of her dress. The Queen's tiara was her something borrowed, the 1936 Cartier "halo". The Queen loaning the bride a tiara is a tradition of royal weddings. Finally her something new were a pair of Robinson Pelham earring given to her by her parents. they were diamond-set stylised oak leaves with a pear-shaped diamond set drop and a pave set diamond acorn suspended in the centre. The earrings were made to represent the family's coat of arms and were made to echo and compliment the tiara.

snow

Isn't it weird how a weather condition effects people? For example hot weather makes us happier and more upbeat than if it were raining, but snow is the most melodramatic weather condition. It can cause people to regress back to childhood and throw snowballs but it can also make you feel cold and depressed.

It really annoys me when Adults complain about the snow because they won't be able to drive or they can't get to work! to be honest wouldn't you rather be out playing in the snow than sitting in a stuffy office wearing a tight pinstripe suit which doesn't fit properly because you have eaten too much over the Christmas holidays. Here in England we get over exited about snow whether it is 0.5 cm or 25 cm because we get it for about a week once a year.

snow can also be quite nostalgic even though i am only fourteen, but it takes you back to when your really tiny and it has just stopped snowing and your parents finally let you go outside but you have so many layers on you can only lift your arms about 5 cm above your head. So when you finally get outside and you have snowball fights and make snowmen (which by the next day will about 2-3 inches smaller) you go back to your parents and your hands and feet are purple, you feel quite satisfied that you have made the most of the snow.

so don't complain when it snows because it is a special weather condition and it is very rare ( in England anyway) Make the most of the snow! ;)
